Dr. Neerja Madhav

Ghazipur Literature Festival presented by Bharat Dialogues welcomes Neerja Madhav as our esteemed speaker. She is a distinguished Hindi author from Uttar Pradesh, celebrated for her socially conscious writing. Her works include Yamdeep (2002), which highlights the lives and rights of the third gender and inspired her active campaigning for their recognition, ultimately acknowledged by the Supreme Court in 2014. Her novel Geshe Jumpa (2006), centered on Tibetan refugees in India, is taught at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi. She is also the author of Diary of 5-Avarna Female Constable (2010). She received the Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2021.
