Dr. Ranjana Kumari, a renowned women's rights advocate and Director at Centre for Social Research (CSR) has led gender equality efforts in India for decades. Sparked by a tragic dowry death near her home in 1980, she penned down Brides Are Not for Burning and has since championed policy reform, women's safety, and political participation. She has served with the United Nation (UN) & International Labour Organisation (ILO) and contributes to global forums as well as with tech platforms to promote online safety. Her activism and scholarly contributions have earned her national and international recognition, as well as numerous awards.
