Raj Mohan

Ghazipur Lit Fest presented by Bharat Dialogues is glad to welcome Raj Mohan as our esteemed speaker. Raj Mohan is a Dutch-Surinamese singer, songwriter, and poet. He writes and sings in Sarnámi, blending traditional and contemporary styles. In 2011, he released his first pop album featuring Sarnámi lyrics, a historic first in Surinamese music. Known for creating the Sarnámi Geet in the Geet & Ghazal style, his acclaimed album ‘Kantraki’ in 2005 gained international recognition. With roots in India and Suriname, now based in the Netherlands, Raj Mohan explores societal themes and taboos. He leads musical groups like the Raj Mohan Ensemble, touring worldwide and enriching the cultural dialogue through his unique music and poetry.
